Ugandan waste scheme seeks advisers
In collaboration with the World Bank, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is looking to assign technical consultants from the private sector to conduct feasibility studies, to implement an integrated system for waste management.
The expression of interest (EoI) comes as the city combats the lack of solid waste management. According to the KCCA, the capital has seen rapid growth in its economy and population. The rate of regeneration and solid waste accumulation is beyond the city’s capacity for collection and disposal, exacerbated by the lack of robust solid waste management.
The project, released last week, will be financed by the World Bank under trust funds and the deadline to submit EoIs is 15 August.
Following the EoI, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. The technical advisory service is expected to last approximately three months.
