Kuwait metro PPP moves forward

Kuwait’s US$7bn Metropolitan Rapid Transit (KMRT) PPP is seeking a transaction adviser to procure the project’s first phase.
The government’s Partnerships Technical Bureau (PTB) will advertise for a transaction advisor this week, Sunday 15 July, the same release date for request for proposals (RFP).
RFPs will be available until 2 August 2012, as the country’s Ministry of Communication seeks a private partner for the five-phase project.
As previously mentioned in PPP Bulletin, the KMRT system consists of an integrated network, featuring 69 stations covering 160kms. Trains will allegedly be driverless, reaching speeds between 90-100km/h.
