Sunshine Coast hospital to appoint winner

25 May 2012 A preferred bidder will be appointed on Australia�s $2bn Sunshine Coast university hospital PPP in the coming weeks, it has been revealed.

Lend Lease and UK-based contractor Laing O’Rourke have been invited to submit final bids from a shortlist of three. A team including John Laing and InfraRed did not make it to the final stages.

The scheme is the last major PPP arranged by Anna Bligh’s government before it lost the Queensland election earlier this year. It aims to have more than 700 beds by 2021 and is one of the largest PPPs in the state.

The deadline for proposals is 11 June.
