German hospital PPP comes to market

The tender has been launched for the €380m University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany.
A private partner is being sought to contruct new facilities and renovate up to 49 hospitals and 2,400 beds at two locations in Kiel and Lübeck for the northern state’s largest-ever construction project. The total maximum area to be operated consists of approximately 150,000 sq m in both locations.
Following submissions by the 4 July deadline, five bidders will enter into competitive dialogue with the contracting authortity. The winning bidder will be paid usage charges covered by the annual efficiency savings over a period of 25 years.
ABG was appointed as technical consultant in March, with White & Case and Weißleder & Ewer acting as legal and financial consultants respectively.
