Bidders for $1bn Sydney Convention Centre
Infrastructure New South Wales has issued a request for proposals for the A$1bn plus Sydney Convention Centre following the withdrawal of the Laing O’Rourke/Macquarie consortium.The following teams will now compete to design, build, operate and maintain the facility:
- Destination Sydney, comprising divisions of Lend Lease, Spotless Group, Capella Capital, AEG Ogden and InfraRed Capital;
- VeNuSW, comprising parts of Brookfield, Plenary Group and Suntec.
The contract duration is 25 years and includes the development of the new facilities and refurbishing existing facilities across Darling Harbour.
A preferred partner will be selected by the end of 2012 and the project is due to be completed by late 2016.
