Canada funding round opens

17 April 2012 The P3 Canada Fund has called for proposals in the fourth round of its funding mechanism.

Provinces, territories, First Nations and municipalities are eligible to submit proposals for projects to be procured under the P3 model.

Crown corporation PPP Canada will prioritise projects that promote jobs and stimulate economic growth including transportation, water/wastewater, solid waste disposal and brownfield redevelopment projects. The Fund will also offer advice and expertise to selected projects.

"Preference will be given to those projects that demonstrate substantial involvement by the private sector throughout the project’s life cycle and provide evidence that as a P3 the project will deliver value for money compared to traditional procurement." said John McBride, CEO of PPP Canada.

To date, the Fund has announced more than $109m in funding commitments under Rounds One and Two to seven projects. Round Three announcements are expected in the coming months.
