Puerto Rico launches prison RFQ
Puerto Rico's Public-Private Partnership Authority together with the Department of Corrections are seeking submissions from private firms to design, build, finance and maintain a youth detention facility to accommodate 600 young people.
The government advisory team for the procurement comprises Caribbean Project Management as technical adviser, Advantage Business Consulting as financial adviser, Pietrantoni and Mendez & Alvarez and Aird & Berlis as legal advisers.
SMRT will also act as US-based adviser and Marques + Marques on the design.
The ‘Nuevo Comienzo’ project (translated as ‘New Beginnings’ in English) is estimated to provide savings of US$4.1m annually.
