South Africa plans $1.5bn PPP burst
The value of PPPs in South Africa is expected to grow from just over R4bn ($534m USD) in 2007/08 to R11bn ($1.5bn USD) in 2010/11, according to the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa (Asgisa) annual report. Of the R96bn in infrastructure expenditure for the 2006/07 financial year, 2.5% is planned through PPPs.
